Rick and Cristina did a fabulous job repainting our kitchen cabinets. I wanted to lighten up the kitchen space and the newly painted cabinets 100% did the job. The work they did was amazing – you couldn’t tell they were painted, even looking up closely. Most importantly, their pricing was very competitive and their level of service and professionalism hard to beat. If you’re thinking about repainting cabinets – run and hire this dynamic husband wife duo – you won’t be sorry.

Rick and Christina did a fabulous job on my kitchen and bathroom cabinet repainting. They were so professional on the cabinet repainting and finished the job within promised timeline. Now my kitchen and bathroom cabinet look like brand new and I am very happy with the result. I highly recommend Rick and Christina to anyone who wants to repaint kitchen and bathroom cabinet..

The customer service I received from Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting (hereinafter: VKCP) was off the charts. First off, they have the best website out of anyone I saw, and the owner Rick quickly got back to me when I emailed about 15 questions over the course of 3 weeks prior to actually hiring him. His responses were the most detailed emails I have ever received from any tradesperson. I never got the feeling that I was bothering him with so many questions the way some other contractors that I communicated with came across after just a few questions about the process. The work itself and final product was outstanding as my wife has cabinets she can scrub forever now without a care in the world. Happy wife, happy life. ;> Thank you again to Rick and his crew at VKCP.

Rick and Christina painted our kitchen cupboards with a very high level of craftsmanship and care.  We are very happy with the results.  Our wooden cupboards from the mid-1970s look like new heritage-style cabinets, at a fraction of the cost of full replacement and without the waste!  Rick and Christina were very friendly, responsive and conscientious.  Highly recommend and we will definitely keep them in mind for future projects!

Marianne McCormick

Highly recommend them, getting our cupboards painted transformed our home.

This company was incredible. Fabulous attention to detail, collaborative, helpful, professional and very well done cabinet refacing. My kitchen looks brand new. Highly recommend. They are so conscientious and came back without question to fix a couple little things in noticed after they were done. A family business that does great work. Definitely hire them.

Your search is over. The reviews are accurate. This is a great company to engage in refreshing kitchen cabinets that have seen better days. They took tired condo kitchen cabinets and resprayed them into great shape. Rick and Cristina were wonderful: on time, on budget, and very responsive. Easily the best tradespersons that I have worked with.

Patrick M

We had a very positive experience with Rick and Christina. Our kitchen turned out fantastic! What a change from the older pine/wood colours previously – the white finish significantly brightened up our entire kitchen AND living room. Undoubtedly the single most enhancing “renovation” to our home thus far. Made a HUGE difference! Rick and Christina completed the job very quickly and professionally. The finished product looks fantastic! Would recommend in a heartbeat.

Wow, 20 year old, maple shaker cabinets look like new, thanks to the terrific makeover by Christina and Rick. Improvement was beyond all expectations. Decision to paint vs replacement turned out to be a ‘no brainer’. Timely, professional and super-duper paint finish. Just love being in my new kitchen!

Thanks, Diane and Ray, Burnaby

Life is better after my experience with 604-Painter. They saved me, well, they revived my cabinets. Now, I have a gorgeous contemporary kitchen that I have always wanted. It is stylin’ and the value-add to my home is the bonus. If you are thinking of an update, stop, do not pass go, the price/value is the best in the lower mainland. The hard work in the details, even the little paint brush & quart of paint they leave behind if you need touch ups in the future, is the loving care you want in your home. Thank you for making the reno so easy. Smooch!

Pamela Groberman

Cristina and Rick did a wonderful job turning my faded cabinets into new-like cabinetry.   My family and I are very pleased with the results.

If you are reading this review and looking for company to refinish your kitchen cabinets, you just found it. You don’t need to look for anything else.

Kris K

Rick and Cristina did a wonderful job painting our kitchen cabinets and doing the on site painting. Our original colour was a mocha brown and now they are a beautiful white! They had great attention to detail and were reliable. I definitely recommend them for your kitchen redo.

Judy Laird

Christina and Rick did an awesome job giving my kitchen a much needed refresh by painting our kitchen cabinets.  The cabinets were still in great shape and we still liked the style just wasn’t happy with the stain color anymore. They totally did a magic trick with them and made them look brand new and amazing.  You can’t even tell they were painted, they look like they originally came that way. We’ve gotten so many compliments.  If you are on the fence like I was about keeping and painting your current cabinets, go for it! We are very happy and would totally recommend!

Rick and Christina are not only extremely skilled at what they do they are lovely people! I would highly recommend their services.  Their work has breathed new life into our kitchen and bathrooms.

Tara Burnett

I found Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting on a quick Google search about 3 months ago and Rick, the owner, was so thorough and reassuring in his emails, he won the bid to paint our kitchen and office cabinets.  Christina did a great job at the house on the fixed pieces and Rick’s finished work looks straight from factoryProfessional, clean, great work, communication, and value – I will not hesitate to recommend them to our friends and family.  Thank you for giving life back to our kitchen!

Alex N

Rick and Christina provided excellent service and the finish on my kitchen cabinets is perfect. You can’t tell they didn’t roll off the factory floor already looking like this. They were on time and kept me updated on progress, and when working in my house were very courteous and consciousness. An excellent experience and would recommend to anyone looking to give a new life to their kitchen!

Erin Shankie

We are very happy with the service we received from Rick and his company. From the moment with have contacted Rick, our experience has been excellent. He was very accommodating with the delay caused by other contractors and was able to store our cabinet doors for much longer than anticipated.

On the day of the installation, him and his partner showed up on time, even though there was a snow storm. They finished all the work within the time frame they quoted. They did an excellent job repainting our cabinets, they look good as new. I would definitely recommend them to a friend or a family member.

Pavel Filkov

We had a great experience with Rick. We had planned to paint our kitchen cabinets and reached out to a number of contractors for quotes. Rick got back right away with a detailed quote and covered all of the options we had asked about. The quote was the best/most competitive we received. He also followed-up by phone to find out a bit more about the project and answer questions, etc. Rick is incredibly knowledgeable, friendly and great to deal with. Unfortunately, we had to delay the project due to some unforeseen circumstances. Rick was incredibly understanding, agreeing to refund our deposit (no questions asked) and offered to help us out again in the future. Based on our experience, we love to work with them in the future and definitely recommend reaching out to Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting for your project.

Corey Jackson

Communication with Rick was easy and informative from the very beginning.  Rick and Christina were efficient, on-time, very pleasant and well organized – something I greatly appreciated in coordinating a large renovation that involved a number of tradespeople. They showed up exactly when they said they would!   That’s huge in the renovation world.   Their work was exactly as promised: my sad, tired wood IKEA cabinets were transformed and they look like new.  What a tremendous savings to have ‘brand new’ cabinets at a fraction of the price.   Their customer service is exemplary, and the finished product better than I’d even hoped for.  Thank you, Rick and Christina!

Diane Kings

That rare and wonderful experience where communication is quick and clear, all work is completed within the timeframe with limited disruptions, and the result is even better than expectations. Our cabinets have been painted beautifully and professionally and they and our kitchen and bathrooms look absolutely brand new. I have been through a kitchen reno before and loved that with this process we didn’t even have to empty out our kitchen and everything remained fully functional. No stress and no mess. The quality of the work is excellent, and they have really fine-tuned the process to make it an easy and pleasant experience for customers. On top of that, they are a pleasure to work with, too. Thank you!

Katie Haché

Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting just finished up a big project for my wife and I that involved the refinishing of 86 of our cabinets from the kitchen, laundry and baths. We had a number of trades in our house at varying times over the course of the cabinets getting done and appreciated the flexibility that Rick and Cristina brought to the job as some of the dates for work had to be re-scheduled as well as some additional items being added to the cabinet portion of the reno towards the end. The pricing was very fair, as we did get other quotes, and the entire process was exceedingly thorough and included Cristina’s impeccable painting of the on-site fixed pieces to blend in nicely with the sprayed door and drawers that Rick did in his booth at his shop. I promised Rick that I would put his service on speed-dial as I fully anticipate doing more projects with him and his outstanding crew in the new future.

Cory Dent

Rick’s customer service is next level. He is an extremely clear communicator, set clear expectations from both parties at the very beginning of the project, and followed through on everything we agreed on (including timelines). Christina and Rick transformed our ragedy old dark brown cabinets into brand new looking white cabinets. Rick also worked out a packaged deal by refinishing our three-bathroom vanities saving us thousands in retrospect. Two thumbs up!.

2. Dedicated website showing cabinet painting only

Here’s something to consider that maybe you hadn’t thought of before. Does the cabinet refinishing company do only cabinet refinishing and other related refinishing services or does the company paint everything under the sun?

A lot of painting companies like to cast out a large fishing net claiming that they paint:

  • interior
  • exterior
  • commercial
  • industrial
  • wallpapering
  • faux finishing
  • stucco removal
  • colour consultation
  • staircase refinishing
  • furniture refinishing
  • kitchen cabinet painting.

You can tell just by looking at their cabinet refinishing website what services they offer. We’re not saying nor are we suggesting that it’s a bad thing to offer interior painting services or exterior painting services, or commercial and industrial painting services but we are suggesting that the odds are much higher that you will receive a better kitchen cabinet painting experience from a company that does only cabinet painting and refinishing.

It’s our professional opinion that getting your cabinets painted from a painting company that does all sorts of painting is a random affair to be avoided at all costs. When you hire the best cabinet painting company in Vancouver there is nothing random about it provided you hire Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting. Refinishing kitchen cabinets and bathroom cabinetry is all we do. 100%. Full stop, period.

3. Pricing

Wow, to some of the best kitchen cabinet painting companies charge a lot of money to refinish your kitchen cabinets. I don’t think that it’s a good time to throw another kitchen cabinet painting company under the bus so we won’t. It’s fair to say though, that most kitchen cabinet painting companies charge at least 30% more than what Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting charges.   To be more specific though, there’s only a couple of cabinet painting companies that literally, charge double. Most cabinet refinishing companies charge anywhere from 20% – 80% more. We are a husband and wife team and all we do is paint kitchen cabinets so I think we run a tighter ship then most and simply don’t charge as much as all the monies go into the same household.

11. Process Outlined

STEP 1 – HIRE AN EXPERT

Whether we’re painting, lacquering or applying an industrial pre-cat epoxy to your cabinets you’re going to get your ‘new install’ but for a fraction of the price. As experts in cabinet painting and refinishing we will find out your exact needs and deliver an outstanding refinishing job on time and under budget.

STEP 2 – REMOVE HARDWARE

We will remove all hinges, knobs, doors, and drawers and label them carefully so that there is no mistake as to what goes where when it comes time to re-install them. An often mistake done by non-professionals prior starting the job. We at VKCP, ensure that the associated hardware is properly listed for.

STEP 3 – TAKE INVENTORY

Now that your cabinets are gone for 2-3 weeks you get to view your life in a way hitherto unseen. Time to remove the torn shelf paper or to start cutting down on junk food? And you thought you were just getting your cabinets painted. Please take advantage of this rare opportunity – that too without any charge!

STEP 4 – CABINETS EXAMINATION

A quick examination of the cabinetry to be painted to take note of any knicks that need to be filled, any cracks that need to be caulked and any grease etc that needs to be cleaned prior starting the job. While the ‘wooden look’ has its place it can also look and feel dated and out of sorts in a lot of newer homes.

STEP 5 – REMOVE INTERFERENCES

Before any priming or painting begins, we first scrape off anything that would interfere with the spray pattern and that comes off easily. Typically, a lot of cabinet doors have a small contact lens shaped piece of waxy plastic substance in the corner so as to protect the cabinet door from hitting the fixed pieces.

STEP 6 – CLEANING

Cleaning, cleaning, and more cleaning. You might be surprised at just how much ‘stuff’ we clean/scrub off prior to the priming. This is one of the most important and essential element during the job in order to encourage proper adhesion of the undercoat to be applied before proceeding ahead.

STEP 7 – PRIMING

After cleaning we spray one coat of pre catalyzed solvent based lacquer primer to seal all the oils and resins in the wood so that there is no ‘bleed through’.  That’s good for maple or laminate or any non oak.  For oak, due to its porous nature we hand push 3 coats of oil based KILZ deep into the substrate to seal properly.

STEP 8 – SANDING

After the first coat of oil based primer, we use 220 grit sandpaper to sand in preparation for the next coat of primer. The second spray application of primer is applied. This is the end of the priming stage, unless we are doing oak, in which case we have to apply a third coat to totally seal the substrate.

STEP 9 – GLASS PROTECTION

After doing a dry brush to clean off any dust from sanding between the coats; next is the glass protection – which although cost a bit more to paint these cabinet doors since the glass has to be protected perfectly. A ton of taping is thus required to ensure the process go smoothly. And yes, it takes a long time, however.

STEP 10 – THE SPRAY

While we are spraying all your doors and drawers off site we take a day or two to do the on site work. Sometimes that means spraying and other times brush and roll. And we finally get to spray some finish coat. We love the look of newly sprayed cabinets in the morning… looks like victory!

STEP 11 – DELIVERY

Removing tape means we’re getting close to the end. With each piece individually wrapped with thick bubble wrap to protect your sparkling new cabinets, the delivery is now at your door-steps. It is now a matter of moments before we surprise you with your kitchen cabinetry.  Everything that you have dreamed of.

STEP 12 – INSTALLATION

Now it’s time to get the refinished cabinets plugged back in. The delivered cabinetry is then re-assembled and installed. The previously removed hardware, hinges, knobs, and other accessories are also re-installed. So, what next? Nothing. Job done! All refinished  so stand back and enjoy your new kitchen!

12. FAQ’S

Our answers to frequently asked questions may be the most comprehensive answers from any cabinet painting company in the history of the world.   We have 17 questions we answered in our FAQ’s and here is just one example of the thoroughness with which we respond to specific questions.

Question #1)

What specifically do you do when you paint (or refinish) my kitchen cabinets anyway?

Short Answer:

1) Whether we’re cabinet painting Vancouver, cabinet painting North Vancouver or cabinet painting Richmond the process is the same. We up and label everything then take down your doors and drawers.  We bag all your handles and knobs and tuck them away in one of your cupboards.  Then we leave.

2)  When we show up to paint the “on-site fixed pieces” a couple weeks later we clean, fill where required..tape..sand…tack cloth then prime all cabinetry. Sand again and prime again.

3) Next is 2-3 coats of industrial pre-catalyzed epoxy to all surfaces.

4)  We then install the doors and drawers that were prepped and sprayed at our spray shop prior to the painting of the fixed pieces.

5)  The transformation is complete.  Enjoy!

Long Answer:

THE AVERAGE TYPE OF HIGH-QUALITY KITCHEN CABINET REFINISHING JOB:

1) oak cabinets

2)  maple cabinets

3) laminate cabinets

4) thermofoil

Let’s assume, for the moment, that we’re doing what we do on a lot of our cabinet refinishing projects:  which is to paint those faded oak, maple, laminate, thermofoil (or whatever type of kitchen cabinets you have.)  And to be fair, a lot of the kitchen cabinets we paint are, in fact, not in bad shape at all, nor are they even faded.  Furthermore, here at Cabinet Painting Vancouver there are no shortage of cabinet painting jobs we do where the cabinets are in what we can accurately describe as “new condition”.   In these cases, its simply time to try a new colour.  After all, it’s looking dark over there isn’t it?

For those who are thinking of going to a darker colour from you present light one that’s cool too.  Only YOU know what mood you want to create in your own kitchen.

Now, for starters, we don’t just “throw a coat of paint on them”. The process of painting your cabinetry is a lot more involved than that. It’s extremely detailed work. Right up there with brain surgery and rocket science.  Not quite…but close.  ;>  Don’t believe me?..then read on and decide for yourself when you see exactly what’s involved in delivering a high quality kitchen cabinet refinishing job.

“SHOULD I TAKE DOWN MY KITCHEN CABINETS MYSELF?”

Don’t concern yourself with taking down any cabinets or putting them back.  There are one million other things you would rather be doing.  At Cabinet Painting Vancouver we take pleasure in the entire process. That’s why you hired us to paint your kitchen cabinets.  And part of the process of painting them involves taking them down, taking them to our shop, painting them there and then bringing them back and installing them.

I’M ON A TIGHT BUDGET SO I WOULD LIKE TO REMOVE AND REPLACE EVERYTHING AND SAVE A FEW HUNDRED BUCKS.   CAN I?”

Now, if you *insist* on saving a bit of money and want us to knock some off the over-all price then feel free to discuss with us how much you can save by removing all the doors, drawer hinges and knobs and replacing them yourselves.  For 95% of our customers, we remove and replace everything with 5% doing themselves.  Whatever’s clever.  Again, most of our customers have one million other things they would rather be doing than removing and replacing cabinets.  Not to mention the fact that if they’re not labelled properly and you try to put a drawer back on in what you believe to be the right spot (but it’s not…AND it’s upside down but you can’t tell) then you will spend an hour playing around with it and maybe not ever figure of the riddle.    Sound like I’m speaking from the point of view with having first-hand knowledge.   Yipper skipper. So ya, there’s a major learning curve.   But if you feel so inclined to save a few hundred bucks then dig in my friend.

“WHAT ARE SOME WAYS THAT YOU GIVE ME PEACE-OF-MIND?”

Excellent question. We will show up and do the uninstall but before we start taking anything down we will do a couple of things to give both you and us some peace-of-mind.

PEACE-OF-MIND #1

1) We will open and close and examine all your cabinets (both doors and drawers) to see how easily they in fact open and close.  Some cupboards are less than perfect so we takes notes, pictures and videos to record whatever the issue is with any particular kitchen cabinet or bath cabinets door or drawer.  This is a very important step as sometimes you don’t notice a pre-existing condition until AFTER we do the work and then do the install and then things stand out a bit more and get noticed for the first time even though it’s pre-existing.

“WHAT’S A PRE-EXISTING QUESTION” you ask?  Good question.  Here are a few examples:

Example A:

We open one of your cupboard doors above your fridge and it doesn’t open all the way but instead rubs against the top of the fridge.

Example B:

The ‘lazy susan’ that hangs in a lopsided fashion due to weakened hinge placement over the years and no amount of playing around and adjusting the hinges will make it hang in a perfectly aligned fashion

Example C:

The drawers around your sink are in extra bad shape and are warped or bulbous in nature due to water settling on it over the years and making the surface swell.  We do a lot of extra work to make these particular drawers or doors look as best as possible.  That amounts to twice as much primer and epoxy paint than usual.  Question;  Will they look perfect?  No, only buying new will make them perfect but we can  get them up to  an 8/10 versus their current state of 3/10.

PEACE-OF-MIND #2:

2) We look around our work area to see if there is any damage that stands out that was caused my anyone in the past. We will also take pictures and video, where required, to help assist you in any way.

The following is an actual, verbatim, conversation we have had.

Customer:  “You scratched my floor Rick”.

Rick: “umm…not so much.  (holding up cell phone) Here’s the video I took of the pre-existing scratch that I noticed at the 10 second mark of me being on your property.  It’s the same video that I also emailed to you, text you about and spoke to you in person about”

Customer:  “Oh, THAT scratch..right..thanks…I’ve been juggling a lot of things lately with this reno..sorry.  Must have been the counter-top guys or the electricians”

Rick:  “Usually is Mrs. Jones…usually is”

LABELING

Now comes the labeling. At Cabinet Painting Vancouver we don’t want to be guessing where things go at the end so we are very methodical by clearly labeling where everything goes.  That involves putting some painters tape on the inside of the cabinet boxes…labeled “#1″….”#2” etc..while we simultaneously tape and label the cabinet doors associated with those areas as “#1″….#2”..etc.   until all the kitchen cabinet doors have been removed.  When the cupboard doors have all been labeled, we then move onto the removal of the cabinet drawers.  Same process as above only this time we label all the drawers with a letter instead of a number.  We also make sure we keep track of what side of the drawer is up and which is down.  Things can get a bit tricky if we try to install one and its upside down because even though we will in fact be able to affix it, it will look askew due to being slightly off.  Centimetres matter.  And those faux drawers you have under the sink…if we can get to them we will take those off as well.  Sometimes they simply don’t come off or they do come off but we can’t access the screws due to the shell of the sink being in the way.  Our goal though is to remove them if we can.

OFFICIAL COUNT OF YOUR KITCHEN AND BATHROOM CABINET DOORS AND DRAWERS

Once we get everything off we do an “official count” to make sure we have the same number of cabinet doors and drawers you said you had when we first contacted you via email and were asked of the “total number of doors and drawers”.   If there are less pieces then we will tell you what rebate you have coming and if there are more pieces than you had originally thought then we will let you know the extra charge so that we don’t leave your property with your items and THEN tell you about the extra charges.   This quite obviously is the fairest manner in  which to conduct business. At least we at Cabinet Painting Vancouver believe so.

Can you believe how much detail and work is involved in doing high quality cabinet refinishing and we haven’t even taken your cabinet doors and drawers out of your kitchen and to the spray shop yet!

NICE TOUCH!

One other nice touch we do is that when we take down, or rather, uninstall your cabinets we have to lean them up against your walls before taking them out to our truck or van.  We don’t rest them right against your walls as we don’t want to scratch any of your existing painted walls.  By placing a small piece of foam between the cabinet and the wall we protect the wall from any damage.  That foam you see is the very same foam we use to wrap and protect the doors and drawers after they are dried and cured.  But more about that later.

DO YOU TAKE OFF YOUR SHOES AT THE DOOR?

We sure do.  We take off our “street  ware” and put on our DEDICATED INDOOR SHOES.  These are shoes that have never been outside, ever.  They are 100% dedicated to being inside a customers house.  Nice touch, right?

WE MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO OUTSTANDING ISSUES

Prior to leaving we will make sure that there are no outstanding issues.  We don’t want to take your cabinetry off your property only to discover down the road when we’re painting the ‘on-site fixed pieces’ that we didn’t discuss a particular aspect of the job. Such as:

DO YOU PAINT BEHIND THE FRIDGE AND DISHWASHER?

The dishwasher, never, and sometimes behind the fridge.  With the fridge it depends on how much of the side panels you can see and to what degree it stands out and bothers you.  Most often it’s “out of site, out of mind”.  If you would like us to paint behind the fridge then please be prepared to move the fridge in and out yourself as we don’t want to take any risks and maybe damage your floor.  Those rolling wheels that the fridge sits on can sometimes leave marks when you least expect it.

DO YOU PAINT MY WINE RACK?

Wine racks are excluded from all initial quotes and the price to paint them, if you want them done, is dependent on the difficulty of doing so.

WERE THERE EXTRA PIECES AND WERE YOU TOLD ABOUT IT THEN AGREED TO THE INCREASE IN PRICE?

We make sure we have an exact count of the number of doors, drawers and shelves.   If there are more than you said there were in your initial email we will let you know what the extra charge is.

ARE THERE ANY PARKING CONSIDERATIONS WE SHOULD BE AWARE OF?

WILL THERE BE OTHER TRADES PRESENT WHILE WE ARE WORKING THERE?

WHAT ABOUT INSIDE THE CABINETS?

DO YOU PAINT THE EDGES OF THE CABINET?

That’s what we bring to the table. You can’t fake that. In fact, it says right on our card:

“our painters are friendly”.

19. Video Testimonials

If you check out our website we have a whole bunch of videos and a lot of those videos are video testimonials.  Customers speaking on-the-fly as it were telling us how much they like the job we just did. Nothing rehearsed and nothing staged.  100% authentic testimonials.

20. Touch-up Kit

Touch up kit consists of some paint and an artist paint brush.   You can use it to touch up anything or you can give us a call and we’ll come out to see you and take care of it ourselves.

21. Colours

We use the best colours and we have thousands of them. Only Benjamin Moore colours because they had the best colours. Full stop.  Period.  Other companies will use colours from any store and then try to match them 2A Benjamin Moore colour.  That process is hit or miss. Usually a miss.

22. Follow-up On Guarantee Work

We have had to do guarantee work only a handful of times and each time we got out there and got it done quickly.  Some of our testimonials talk about how quickly we came back to do a touch up.

23. Project Capacity

We have a 1500 square foot full service shop and we are capable of refinishing any number of items you have.  If you are a restaurant and have 200 tables you would like refinished our turn around time is less than a week.  If you have 1000 kitchen cabinets you would like painted or restained or refinished any way you want we have the shop space and spraying capacity to get your order done quickly and efficiently.

24. Liability Insurance

Rest assured, we have liability insurance in our 100% legal across the board.  We have never had a claim against us for over 25 years.

25. Business Licence

We are definitely not a fly-by-night operation. We have a business license to work in all areas of the GVRD.

26. Brush & Roll or Spray Fixed Pieces

We can spray your fixed pieces but there’s a lot more value to be had by brushing and rolling them.  They look like they’ve been sprayed. It’s a good magic trick to be sure.

27. Husband & Wife Team

I’m Wayne Gretzky and she’s Jari Kurri.  After 13 years she surpassed me by metamorphosizing into The Great One with me being Mr. Assist now   Go figure.  It is what it is.  Any way you slice it you have the best team in Canada doing your cabinet painting.

We used to have a whole bunch of employees years ago. Turns out though even our best painters we’re not good at painting cabinets.  So what do you do?   You fire them all and do the work yourself.  You will not find a better 1-2 punch than Rick Anderson and Cristina Anderson.  Literally, the best kitchen cabinet painting crew in Canada.  Again, take a quick peek at those Google reviews to see exactly who you are dealing with.  Our prices are significantly lower then other cabinet painting companies because we simply don’t have the same overhead with employee wages.  It truly is the secret to our success.

28. Easiest Phone Number To Remember

29. Refinishing Cabinets Is All We Do

Well, that’s not entirely true.  We do staircase refinishing and a whack of other things.  Point is, is that refinishing is all we do.  We’re not bouncing around all over town doing residential exteriors.   We’re cabinet painting specialists to be sure.

30. We Work Within Your Budget

Sounds cliche but it’s true.  Our pricing is very humble.

31. We Give 20 Recent References

That’s quite a few.  I bet no other kitchen cabinet painting company does that.

32. Dedicated “Indoor Shoes” While Working In Your Home

A lot of our customers have told us that it’s a very nice touch when they learn that we have indoor shoes specifically for their kitchen. No need to be carrying in outdoor mud, dirt and germs when you can just wear new shoes that are only worn in kitchens.

33. We Use Tape To Get Lazer Lines

Tape is a painter ‘s best friend. We use lots of it when we’re painting the fixed pieces because we want to get a laser line that looks like it’s straight from the factory. Our free hand is excellent but taping makes it perfect. And you deserve perfection.

34. Communication Is Impeccable

If you have read some of our reviews you will see that a number of our customers have mentioned that they were impressed with our communication.  Excellent communication begins with a clear and concise response to your initial inquiry. That’s either by text, phone call, messenger or e-mail.  There is never a point that you are left in the dark about the process.

34. Communication Is Impeccable

Imbed 3 videos here.  Of stock shop stuff

35. Best Preparation In The Business

Preparation For Doors and Drawers at the shop. What exactly is involved with preparation anyway? “Preparation” is an umbrella term used to describe numerous things they get done during the process of getting your kitchen cabinets painted. The first preparation we do is that we clean your cabinets when we get them to the shop. It doesn’t matter how clean they are when we take them from your house we still scour them anyway to lift out any dirt, grime Or cleaners that may be on the surface.  Once cleaned we then sand all the surfaces to make the cabinets as smooth as possible while creating a bond for the primer. We then use compressed air and tacky cloth to remove all the sanding dust.  Once the cabinets are dust free we spray on our primer then allow to dry.  Once dry we sand again and use  compressed air again to clean the surface. We Then prime again and sand again followed by compressed air and tacky cloth again. After that we’re ready for top coat. We spray one top coat and allow to dry. We sand and clean and then spray a final top coat.

For preparation for the painting of the on site fixed pieces we have a standard operating procedure as well.  The first thing we do is clean your floor by the base add the cabinet boxes since we will be taping there. We clean everything, sand and fill holes then sand again.

36. We Bubble Wrap Doors & Drawers

After we paint your doors and drawers we let them cure for a few days.  When they are cured and hard we then wrap them in thick foam to protect them while they sit in our shop or while we are transporting them.  We take great care in protecting your investment from nicks and bumps.

37. We Only Take 10% Deposit

Some cabinet painting companies want 50% down before they even begin. We think that’s way too much and as such we only ask for a 10% deposit.  That is fair and reasonable.

38. We Are Great With Animals

A lot of our customers have animals an it’s fair to say that we get along with them all. We know that we are guest in the house so we behave that way. You don’t have to lock up your animal when we are around although some choose to do precisely that. We are experts at making animals feel at ease in their own environment.

39. We Are Great With Children

What does your children have to do with cabinet painting? Nothing really but it is worth mentioning that we are very very good with children have all ages.  We make everybody feel comfortable when we are in your home.

40. Your Kitchen Is Never “Out of Commission”

We take your doors and drawers two hours shop but what happens to your boxes?  We have to paint the fixed pieces which are called the boxes and kicks plus side panels in order to do a thorough job. This doesn’t mean that you can’t use your kitchen though.  Your kitchen will never be fully out of commission while we’re on site painting your fixed pieces.  That means you have total access to your fridge and stove even though were in your house, or rather, in your kitchen painting.

41. We Don’t Ask You To Do Unnecessary Things

Some kitchen cabinet painting companies will have you remove the entire contents of your cabinets.  This is totally unnecessary as the cabinet boxes can be painted quite easily without having to remove items inside your doors or drawers.  It takes a long time to remove all the items from inside your cabinet boxes. Imagine doing all that work as well as putting everything back in only to find out that it wasn’t necessary at all.

42. We Are Accomodating With Your Schedule

A lot of times when we paint kitchen cabinets there are other renovations going on as well.  Backsplashes, countertops, new floors another painting to name a few.  We are very good at working with other trades.

43.  We Are Impeccably Clean

Let’s be honest here; painters do not have the best reputation on earth for being neat and clean. At Vancouver Kitchen Cabinet Painting we clean up daily and upon job completion.  We leave your kitchen cleaner than it was prior to our arrival.  We have what you might call a “chambermaid mentality”. It sure helps that one of the owners a Vancouver kitchen cabinet painting was a professional chambermaid for many years prior to entering the painting trade.  We are more than just clean.   We are impeccably clean.

44. We Are Fair With The “Authorized Extras”

Sometimes our customers would like some work done that is above and beyond the scope of the original contract. This is called an “authorized extra”.  This is not an opportunity for us to get rich.  This is an opportunity to continue to give you the outstanding pricing that encouraged you to hire us in the first place.

45. We Have The Most Thorough Contract In The Business

Our contract covers everything. We go into great detail as to what’s getting done and the costs involved. The program we use is called Paint Scout and is the best software for painters on the market. We like to be organized and that all begins with a clear hand concise contract.

46. Sample Process Is Perfect

We don’t always do cabinet samples but when we do it is a very thorough process. Samples are sometimes needed when you tell us to match an existing colour in your kitchen such as some baseboards or crown molding.  If you know the colour that was used then that’s great but sometimes our customers don’t know that information and don’t have access to that information yet want their kitchen cabinets to match the existing trim. We have to take a piece of baseboard into the paint store and have them match it.  Once they do that we buy a gallon and we spray out one door and then show it to you. If you give the go ahead then it’s full speed ahead. You can rest easy Knowing that the cabinets we are painting will blend in perfectly with the existing trim.  We take out the randomness of it all by doing it this specific way.

47. Vaxxed And Will Wear Masks If Requested

Yeah I know, touchy subject.  During the pandemic we wore masks to ensure the safety of our customers.  We will to this day wear a mask if requested.  Even though wearing masks is voluntary in most places we will respect the rights of our customers if they feel more comfortable with us covering up while in their house.

48. Colour Consultation On Point

Because we have painted hundreds of kitchens We know what colours look good in any kitchen.  Most often kitchen cabinets are going from they are natural oak or Maple original look to some kind of white or off-white colour.  If you have some grey in the background it’s essential that the white being Used blends in nicely with the Gray in the background. Moreover, if you have earth tones such as Browns and beige then white cabinets with a tinge of Gray would not be appropriate. Benjamin Moore’s Cloud White or White Dove Would be perfect in that situation as those colours would not clash with anything in your kitchen such as your backsplash or countertops.  We have a colour visualizing tool on our website to help you with all your colour choices.  If you want to keep it really simple though just go straight white which is the whitest and brightest paint from Benjamin Moore.  It’s called Chantilly Lace.  After that, the options are endless. You can rest assured though, even though we won’t be making the final colour decision for you we can strongly advise you against choosing certain colours if they are wrong for your kitchen.

49. Before Pictures Of All Cabinets

We love our before and after pictures of our cabinet refinishing. Taking before shots allows us to troubleshoot at the end during our installation if we cannot figure out where to put back the cabinets. Taking before shots also stop shows pre-existing conditions such as cabinets that were never installed properly in the first place.  When faced with a cabinet that does not install quickly during our installation phase it is sometimes good to have a reference, a picture that is, of the pre-existing condition that makes the presence installation challenging.

50. Spray Shop

Not going to lie.  This is actually one of the top reasons we are the best kitchen cabinet painting company in Vancouver in 2023 and 2024. We have one of the best spray shops in town 1500 square feet with everything he could ever imagine.  That’s why our cabinets look so great.  From dustless sanders to high end sprayers. Nothing but the best.
